There are certain smells and tastes of the season that bring back wonderful memories. For us, we remember the smell of delicious foods that come out around the Halloween season. Even though we love carving pumpkins, we also love to eat them! Below is a list of some tasty recipes that will add some flavor to your Halloween memories.



Baked Pumpkin Seeds
Ingredients:
Pumpkin Seeds
½ Stick Butter
Salt
  • After removing seeds from the pumpkin, wash the seeds and remove the pulp
  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  • Melt butter in microwave safe dish
  • Soak pumpkin seeds in butter for 5 minutes
  • On a cookie sheet, place foil down and spread the pumpkin seeds on it keeping the seeds from touching
  • Sprinkle Salt
  • Bake for 10-20 minutes or until slightly brown


Pumpkin Muffins
Ingredients:
3 1/3 Cups Flour
2 Tsp. Baking Soda
3 Cups Sugar
1 ½ Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
1 Tsp. Nutmeg
¼ Tsp. Ground Ginger

Mix the dry ingredients then add:
1 Cup Oil
4 Eggs
2/3 Cup Water
2 Cups Pumpkin
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Prepare muffin tins by greasing with vegetable oil or butter and sprinkling lightly with flour - Shake out excess
  • Fill muffin tins ¾ full and bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
  • Frost with orange icing or cream cheese frosting


Pumpkin Cookies
Ingredients:
1 Cup Pumpkin
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Shortening
1 Egg
2 Cups Flour
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
½Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Cup Nuts or Raisins
  • Mix all the ingredients listed above
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Coat cookie sheet with grease and scoop Tbs. size drops on the cookie sheet
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until brown on the bottom
